About Paris

This most romantic of cities is dominated by the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame, the Grands Boulevards and the monumental Arc de Triomphe and Sacré Coeur. It has many areas, each with its own unique character and attractions. On the Left Bank, St Germain is the meeting place for artists and intellectuals with its many famous cafés.

The Ile de la Cité is a tiny island, home to Notre Dame Cathedral, and where Paris began. Champs-Elysées is the chic area between the Bois de Boulogne and Place de la Concorde where wealth, fashion and the upper class all live together.

The Tuileries quarter contains open air cafés, delightful gardens and the fashionable boutiques of the Rue du Faubourg St. Honoré. Opéra is a smart area of entertainment, restaurants, cafés, food shops and department stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.

Montmartre stretches from the Grands Boulevards by the Opéra through lively Pigalle up to the artists quarter round the Sacré Coeur basilica. Finally, the trendy Marais area features restored, aristocratic mansions and the beautiful Place des Vosges.

The Louvre, formerly a Royal Palace, contains treasures of the monarchy including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. The Musee d`Orsay has the best collection of the impressionists, with entire rooms of Monet, Cezanne and Van Gogh.

The Orangerie, Rodin, Marmottan and Picasso museums show many more works of art.

The Parisians have turned eating out into an art form - the small bistros and cafes offer value for money, especially the set price menus, but expect to pay a premium for dinner at Maxim’s, a cafe on the Champs Elysees or a cabaret.

Nightlife centres round the countless cafes, bars and restaurants with Montmartre and the Left Bank probably the liveliest areas.

Parisian cabarets are famed the world over and a night out to one of these fantastic shows is a night to remember. The amazing spectacle of each show is awe-inspiring, for this is entertainment on a truly grand scale.

A fast moving fusion of colour, music and dance that you`ll simply not find in any other city in the world, accompanied by a quality dinner or a few glasses of champagne ...come to the cabaret.
